Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of design concepts and presentations, contributing creative ideas and solutions.
  • Create mood boards, color palettes, and material selections to effectively communicate design visions.
  • Conduct thorough research on current design trends, materials, and furnishings to inform project decisions.
  • Help with space planning and layout design, ensuring functionality and aesthetic appeal in all projects.
  • Prepare detailed drawings and renderings using design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp) for client presentations and project documentation.
  • Assist in the creation and review of shop drawings, ensuring accuracy and alignment with design specifications.
  • Organize project documentation, including specifications and schedules, and maintain design libraries for easy access.
  • Attend client meetings and take detailed notes to ensure project alignment and address client feedback effectively.
  • Support the team with administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling meetings and managing project timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD

Qualifications:

Job Description:

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all stages of our various fit-out projects, from initial planning and design through to completion. This role requires a combination of field expertise in civil engineering and managerial skills to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The candidate should also have a background in interior design, with an ability to integrate structural and aesthetic elements seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management:

  • Develop detailed project timelines and manage them meticulously to ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee the fit-out project from inception to finish, focusing on optimal use of materials, budget, and adherence to the timeline.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and designers to ensure alignment on project goals.

Engineering and Design:

  • Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects.
  • Create detailed engineering designs tailored to client needs and project requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise in civil engineering while incorporating interior design elements to achieve both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Interior Design Integration:

  • Collaborate with interior designers and architects to ensure that civil engineering components (walls, floors, structural elements) align with design concepts.
  • Offer guidance on materials and finishes that complement the interior design while meeting safety and durability standards.
  • Assist in the selection of fixtures, finishes, and design details that are structurally sound and visually appealing.

Team Leadership:

  • Form and manage a fit-out construction team capable of executing projects effectively.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to ensure team coherence and high performance.
  • Ensure that team members are aware of project goals and understand the balance between engineering standards and interior design vision.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all project work complies with legal standards, regulations, and safety norms.
  • Manage the acquisition of necessary permits and handle legal compliance issues.
  • Keep up to date with Dubai’s building codes and fit-out regulations, especially those relevant to interior construction and design.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee project budgeting, mindful of costs and material expenses.
  • Ensure projects remain within financial limits without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source cost-effective materials that meet both structural and design specifications.

Quality Control:

  • Perform regular quality control checks to maintain high standards of construction and design.
  • Evaluate and recommend materials and equipment needed for projects.
  • Ensure that all structural elements are built to specification while preserving design integrity.

Subcontractor Coordination:

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and other professional personnel to ensure timely and precise execution of project tasks.
  • Ensure that subcontractors understand the integration of civil engineering and interior design elements.

Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on project progress to the project and operations managers.
  • Prepare detailed reports on project status, challenges, and milestones.
  • Provide insights on how engineering decisions affect both project timelines and design outcomes.

Safety Management:

  • Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols on the construction site to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure safety regulations are integrated into both the engineering and interior design components of the project.

Client Interaction and Presentation:

  • Present engineering and design proposals to clients and stakeholders, offering solutions that meet both structural and aesthetic requirements.
  • Address client concerns and make adjustments to designs to align with their vision while maintaining engineering integrity.

Innovation and Sustainability:

  • Stay updated on the latest trends in both civil engineering and interior design, incorporating innovative solutions into projects.
  • Promote the use of sustainable materials and practices in both the structural and interior design aspects of the project.

Technical Drawing and Documentation:

  • Develop and review detailed drawings that integrate both engineering and interior design elements.
  • Ensure that all technical documentation is maintained and shared with relevant teams.

Required Qualifications for a Civil Engineer in an Interior Design Company:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering License (DDA, DCD).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in civil engineering, particularly in construction or interior fit-out projects.
  • Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D).
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience in project management, ability to oversee multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with design teams and clients, ability to present complex technical information clearly to non-engineers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Understanding of sustainable design practices and materials is a plus, given the company's focus on environmental care.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., LEED accreditation) can be advantageous.
